The Lions are up and running for the season with a battling and dramatic victory away to Andover this afternoon.
The game started well for the Lions with @joe__belcher laying on a superb assist for flying winger Harold Thieba to dot down within the first 5 minutes.
A frustrating half saw Chineham come away empty-handed from a long spell of possession inside Andover’s half before the hosts struck with two quick-fire tries to lead 12-7 at the break.
With the hosts dropping to uncontested scrums after the break, a big weapon for Chineham had been dented, but the lineout was still an area of dominance, more fine work from @ronniedobing and @sam_athroll providing the platform for @scoble7 to dive over after another dominant drive.
With the scores locked at 12-12, the game swung again with a breakaway try out wide for Andover but Scoble struck back again soon after, with swift hands through the backs allowing him to score out wide.
Into the final throes at 17-17, Chineham weathered the late sin-binning of scrum-half @jacksoper7 to win a penalty in a decent position. With the clock ticking over towards 80, @adamlincolnn showed supreme 🥜 to keep his composure and slot over and secure the win for the Lions! 🦁🦁
